Krishi Guru, an android based mobile application platform is one stop solution for information access and information dissemination. Larger part of the application feature supports farmers to provide agriculture news, fertilizer calculation, pest/disease and remedies for crops and animals, facility to post instant inquiries in farmer forum and get solutions from experts, find market price and trader information of various markets etc. Farmers can also get notifications of opportunities posted by government and non government organizations.
For every organizations working in livelihood sectors and agribusiness companies, the IFA Krishi application can be economical and efficient tool to connect with farmers as it offers following functions:
a) Mass Messaging for agencies:
The host organizations will be provided with username and password to log into the mass messaging section. Hence, the Field level project officer staff can log in to the device. After Log-in, the user will be in the interface which will have function/feature of profile with project logo, feature to add/edit farmer members of the sites, access message history and Mass Message sending platform etc. The interface will also have collection of feedback sent by farmers. Agribusiness companies as value chain actors can log in to send product marketing information to their targeted classified farmers.
b) User Feedback Collection: Feedback loop is one of the strong component in any livelihood program. Once the host organization comes to our system, we integrate the Interface of the organization to our Krishi Guru App. The Krishi Guru App can collect general feedback from the project sites through app or SMS and compile them to the organization’s Interface.
c) Market Price update: The Market Planning Committees (or collection center) where the project work or simply agriculture cooperative can update the buying price of their collection center through the Krishi Guru app. Also Farmers having product to sell can input the prices through the app. The exchange of price information between the producers and MPC will cut down mid traders. In fact, Krishi Guru app gives space to Regional, National and even International traders to track the prices along the value chains. For free, these services will be extended to any organization working with us to their project sites.
d) Project visibility: Krishi Guru app will have one page listing the names of all the contributing projects/host organizations offering visibility to the users.
e) Addressing Immediate Enquiry: Farmer through app can send immediate enquiry like problem description with picture which can be addressed by field staff.
To access all these features, the Krishi Guru Android application can be freely downloaded from Google Play Store and should be registered either as Farmer or Trader or Agribusiness companies or Extension Agencies.
